Lota lota (Burbot) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family Lotidae. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Nearctic and the Palearctic. They are nocturnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 152 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
