Balistes capriscus (Filefish) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family triggerfishes. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN. They are carnivores. Individuals can grow to 66.0 cm. They have sexual reproduction. Reproduction is iteroparous and oviparous. They rely on anal and dorsal fin swimming to move around.
