Symphodus mediterraneus (Axillary Wrasse) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family Labridae. They are carnivores. Individuals can grow to 18 cm. They have sexual reproduction. Reproduction is oviparous and iteroparous. They rely on pectoral fin oscillation to move around.
