Adults inhabit rocky shores of coastal waters (Ref. 5298). Omnivorous (Ref. 94105). They feed on bottom invertebrates, especially gammarids; also feeds on algae (Ref. 5981). Oviparous. Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205), and are attached to the substrate via a filamentous, adhesive pad or pedestal (Ref. 94114). Larvae are planktonic, often found in shallow, coastal waters (Ref. 94114).

Parablennius incognitus

The mystery blenny (Parablennius incognitus) is a species of combtooth blenny found in the eastern Atlantic ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.[2] It is widespread in Madeira, the Canary Islands and Limbe, Cameroon, off Iberian Peninsula to all parts of the Mediterranean including Morocco, the Sea of Marmara, and Black Sea.[3] In the Black Sea it was first found in 2002 near the southern coast of Crimea, Ukraine, and soon become abundant in coastal waters from Sevastopol to Cape Fiolent.[4] It can reach a length of 5.8 centimetres (2.3 in) SL.[2]
