This species can be found at depths of from 25 to 40 metres (82 to 131 ft). It can reach a length of 6.5 centimetres (2.6 in) SL. It is suspected that this species actually represents a juvenile of G. cruentatus.[2]

Glavoč vitkan (lat. Gobius strictus) ili Schmidtov glavoč je riba iz porodice glavoča. Ova ribica naraste najviše do 6,5 cm duljine. Živi na manjim dubinama, do 40 m, na kamenitom terenu. Sivozelene ili sivkaste je boje, sa mnoštvom tamnih mrlja po bokovima[1]. Ima izduženo tijelo, veliku glavu u odnosu na tijelo i velike oči postavljene skoro na vrh glave (malo preme naprijed). Repna peraja mu je zaobljena, a leđna podijeljena u dva dijela.
Glavoč vitkan je endemska vrsta u Mediteranu, do sada je pronađen oko Maroka, Baleara i u Jadranu [2].

Gobius strictus is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van grondels (Gobiidae).[2] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1907 door Fage.
De soort staat op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN als Onzeker, beoordelingsjaar 2007.[1]
