Characterized by dark brown color of head and body with scattered white flecks; dusky brown dorsal fins with pale bands or rows of dark brown spots and 1-2 relatively large blackish spots on basal portion; dusky brown caudal fin with rows of dark spots; brown pelvic and anal fins; brown pectoral fins with white spots; united pelvic fins with frenum; rounded caudal fin; longitudinal scale series 28-30; cycloid scales on head and anterior body, ctenoid posteriorly; cheek and opercle with cycloid scales; predosal scales 8-11, extending to rear margin of eyes; head with prominent papillae ridges; depth of body 4.0-5.6 in SL (Ref. 90102).

27~34;背鰭前鱗6~11。身體延長,前部圓筒型、後部側扁,標準體長為魚體高的
5.0~5.1倍,呈現鈍圓狀。頭平扁,頭寬大於頭高。上頜、頰部具有肉質皮瓣構造數個。尾鰭圓形,等於或稍短於頭長;胸鰭末端延伸超過臀鰭基部;腹鰭短,相連癒合成吸盤狀。體呈棕灰色,體側隱具3條黑褐色橫帶:第一條橫帶在第一背鰭的下方,並在第一背鰭基底處有一個黑斑;第二條、第三條橫帶在第二背鰭下方,伸達腹側,並在第二背鰭基底處形成兩個大黑斑。頭部嵴狀感覺乳突為黑色。臀鰭具黑色點紋;腹鰭黑色;尾鰭具黑色橫紋。(林上智、林沛立編寫

Callogobius snelliusi is a species of goby found in the Western Pacific Ocean from Japan, to Indonesia, and then the east coast of northern Australia.[1]

This species reaches a length of 3.3 cm (1.3 in).[2]
Etymology
The fish is named in honor of the Dutch hydrographic research vessel Snellius, which was involved in collecting the type specimen.[3]
