Limnanthes pulchella Hartw. Jour. Hort. Soc. London 4 : 79, as a synonym. 1849. Floerkea rosea Greene, Fl. Fran. 100. 1891.
Glabrous annual ; stems copiously branched at the base, decumbent or ascending, 1-3 dm. long ; leaves petioled, 5-10 cm. long, pinnately or bipinnately dissected into narrowly linear divisions; peduncles 5-10 cm. long ; sepals lanceolate, 7-8 mm. long, acute ; petals obcordate.with a broad shallow notch, 12-18 mm. long, pale-rose or nearly white, marked with short longitudinal rose or purplish lines, more or less villous below; carpels obovoid, over 4 mm. long, with very high prominent tubercles with strong side ridges.
Type locality : Upper Sacramento Valley, California.
