Podarcis guadarramae is a typical, medium-sized wall lizard that occurs in the Central System mountains of CW Spain and Portugal including the Guadarrama mountains.Adult males reach 62.5 mm, females 60.0 mm in length.As a result of molecular analyses, Pinho et al. (2006, 2007), Carretero (2008) and Kaliontzopoulou et al. (2011, 2012) refer to P. guadarramae as “type 1A” of the species complex Podarcis hispanicus, which contains significant cryptic diversity (Geniez et al. 2015).The Reptile Database notes that it is difficult to distinguish P. guadarramae from Podarcis guadarramae guadarramae (Uetz, P. 2015).
