Amargasaurus is the genus name of a whip tailed dinosaur (family Dicraeosauridae) that lived 130-122 million years ago (the Early Cretaceous) in South America.The genus is known from relatively complete specimen of one species, Amargasaurus cazaui, found in 1991 as a by paleontologists Leonardo Salgado and and José Bonaparte, at La Amarga Arroyo in Neuquén province, Argentina.
