Pteridium caudatum (Southern Brackenfern) is a species of perennial herb in the family Dennstaedtiaceae. They are native to Puerto Rico, Acre (Brazil), RondôNia, Amazônia, and The Contiguous United States. They have bipinnate + pinnatifid leaves. They have alternation of generations.
