Salvinia molesta (Kariba Weed) is a species of annual herb in the family floating ferns. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil, Guyana, Minas Gerais, Mata Atlântica, Santa Catarina, Colombia, Rio De Janeiro, Argentina, North America, Paraná, and SãO Paulo. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.35 m. They have alternation of generations.
