Maxillaria rufescens is a species of herb in the family orchids. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to Rio Grande Do Sul, Ceará, SãO Paulo, Rio De Janeiro, Acre (Brazil), Maranhao, Pernambuco, Mata Atlântica, Pará, Bahia, Mato Grosso, Paraná, RondôNia, Minas Gerais, Amazônia, Santa Catarina, Roraima, and Espirito Santo.
