Amastus esamenae Schaus

Amastus esamenae Schaus, 1933, p. 575.

Forewing 38.0 mm. Front of head brownish grey; vertex dark brownish grey between antennae, rest brownish grey, with brownish red posterior margin. Tegulae light orange posteriorly, brownish grey anteriorly, with dark brownish grey transverse band between orange and grey areas. Patagia light orange, edged with narrow band of dark brownish grey; fringe mainly brownish grey, but pastel red posterolaterally. Rest of thorax brownish red. Forewing transparent except for light brown margins and light yellow tuft at base of anal margin. Hindwing transparent except for pale yellow margins, suffused with pastel red anally. Dorsal surface of abdominal segment 1 light orange; segment 2 reddish orange; 3–5 reddish orange medially, greyish brown laterally; segment 6 orange-yellow medially, with reddish orange suffusion anteriorly and dark greyish brown transverse band posteriorly; 7 and 8 dark greyish brown, with orange-yellow posteromedially on 7 and along whole posterior margin of 8. Pleural region of abdomen orange-yellow; ventrally greyish yellow, with some orange-yellow on valves of genitalia and reddish orange lateral line along each side of 3–5.

Described from an unspecified number of males and females from Incachaca, Bolivia. There is a female paralectotype in the USNM collection.
