Mascagnia cana Small

Leaf-blades linear-oblong to ovate, 1 cm. long or less, acute or mucronate, revolute, sericeous above, lanate beneath, obtuse or subcordate at the base, very short-petioled or sessile ; sepals ovate, about 2 mm. long, the glands about one half the length of the sepalbody ; petals purplish, 5-6 mm. long, with undulate or erose blades; samaras suborbicular, 15-1S mm. wide, the dorsal wing as large as the lateral ones or larger.
Type locality : Cadena, Durango. Distribution : Northern Mexico.
