Senegalia tamarindifolia (L.) Britton & Rose
Mimosa tamarindifolia L. Sp. PI. 523. 1753. Acacia tamarindifolia WiUd. Sp. PI. 4: 1092. 1806.
A prickly, glabrous, vinelike shrub. Stipules large, foliaceous, ovate, acute; petiole and rachis sometimes prickly, often bearing glands between the pinnae; pinnae 4-8 pairs; leaflets 10-20 pairs, linear-oblong, oblique, 1-1.5 cm. long, the midvein excentric; flowers in large panicled heads; calyx angled, puberulent; corolla glabrous; legume 7-14 cm. long, 2-2.5 cm. wide, glabrous or puberulent.
Type locality: Tropical America.
Distribution; Martinique; Guadeloupe; Margarita.
