Physical description

This species is similar to R. rufiventris, but the ventral segments are quite black, and the thorax is a little more slender. The punctuation is much the same in the two species, and there is but little difference in their sexual distinctions. I include a pair nearly black in colour as a variety, though it may probably prove distinct. Like R. rufiventris, this insect does not appear to be common, but I have seen eleven specimens from the various localities.
