Uredinia hypophyllous, small, 1 mm. in diameter, round, eveniy distributed, yellowish-red, pulverulent, ruptured epidermis evident; peridium delicate, walls smooth, colorless, thin, lp urediniospores elliptical or obovate, often angular, 16-23 by 20-30,"; wall colorless, medium thick, 1.5-2,", prominently verrucose with somewhat deciduous warts ; contents orange-red.
III, Telia hypophyllous, evenly and closely scattered, small, round, 0.2-0,4 mm. across, flat, waxy, at first yellowish-red, afterward blood-red ; teliospores irregularly ellipsoid, 7-9 by 12-19/", in a series 100-130," long; wall colorless, smooth, thin, 1 ," ; basidiospores 7-8 p in diameter.
