Description: The observations are tough to identify, they look like an oarfish from the top with the big dorsal but they appear to show a well defined caudal fin which makes me doubt that they are of Regalecus glesne. We need another opinion on them.

Description: It is likely a ribbonfish (the same family as the oar fish - Family Regalecidae) Trachipterus trachypterus or it could be one of the other two congeneric species (T. articus and T. jacksonensis).
