Trees or shrubs. Leaves paripinnate. Inflorescence (in ours) usually a raceme-like thyrse. Flowers unisexual, zygomorphic. Sepals 4-5, unequal, connate to form a campanulate calyx. Petals 3-4, unguiculate. Stamens 6-9, reduced in female flowers. Fruit indehiscent, fleshy. Seed flattened.
