Berberis thunbergii (Japanese Barberry) is a species of shrub in the family Berberidaceae. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Japan. They have yellow flowers and berries. Flowers are visited by Two-spotted Bumblebee, Tawny Mining Bee, Prairie Yellowjacket, and Yellow-banded Bumblebee. Individuals can grow to 6 feet.
