They are native to Mato Grosso, Amazônia, Paraná, Mata Atlântica, Puerto Rico, Acre (Brazil), Santa Catarina, Espirito Santo, Pará, U.S. Virgin Islands, Minas Gerais, Bahia, and Rio De Janeiro. They have simple, broad leaves and white flowers. Individuals can grow to 18 m.
