Hermosa

Hermosa is a genus of jumping spiders first described by G. W. Peckham and E. G. Peckham in 1892,^[3] and synonymized with Myrmarachne in 1901.^[4] In 2016, Jerzy Prószyński split up Myrmarachne, creating nine new genera, all with names beginning "Myrm". However, it turned out that Myrmavola volatilis, the type species of Myrmavola, was also the type species of Hermosa, and Myrmavola was made a junior synonym.^[1][2] It is part of the Myrmarachnini tribe within the Salticoida clade of Salticinae.^[5]

Le 7 specie sono state reperite in Asia sudorientale (Borneo, Malesia, Celebes) e Africa centrale (Congo, Angola) e meridionale (Madagascar)^[1].

Tassonomia

Per la descrizione delle caratteristiche di questo genere sono stati esaminati gli esemplari tipo di H. volatilis Peckham & Peckham, 1892^[1].

Questo genere è stato sinonimizzato con Myrmarachne MacLeay, 1839 da Simon (1901a); rimosso dalla sinonimia da un lavoro di Marusik & Blick del 2019 e sinonimizzato con Myrmavola Prószynski, 2016 secondo un'analisi degli esemplari tipo Damoetas galianoae Prószyński, 2001^[1].

Non sono stati esaminati esemplari di questo genere dal 2020^[1].
