Uredinopsis phegopteridis Arthur, sp. nov

Uredinia hypophyllous, scattered on discolored areas bounded by the veins, roundish, bullate, very small, 0.1 mm. across or less, brownish-yellow, dehiscent by apical rupture; peridium delicate; urediniospores ovoid or fusiform, 10-16 by 29-58//, acute or acuminate, prolonged into a very long and slender, sharp-pointed beak, 12-26// long; wall colorless, thin, 1/*, smooth except the two longitudinal lines of closely set, minute papillae,
scarcely visible even when dry.
Teliospores numerous in the mesophyl, 2^-celled, globoid, 15-19// in diameter;
wall colorless, thin, 1// or less, smooth.
