Himatanthus obovatus is a species of tree in the family Apocynaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Distrito Federal, Amazônia, South America, Maranhao, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Alagoas, Mato Grosso, Pará, Bahia, Cerrado, Caatinga, RondôNia, Tocantins, Minas Gerais, SãO Paulo, and GoiáS. They have simple, broad leaves.
