Plants monoecious, very mucilaginous, 9-10 cm high, ca. 500 μm in diameter, sparsely and irregularly branched; whorls cylindrical, touching each other; primary fascicles pseudodichotomously branched, 10-13 cell-storeys, cells lanceolate, club-shaped, terminal hairs short or long; cortical filaments very much developed; secondary fascicles rare, covering all internodes, reaching the length of primary fascicles in old plants; spermatangia spherical, 4-6 μm in diameter, terminal or subterminal on fascicles and on laterals around carpogonium-bearing branches; carpogonium-bearing branches undulated to spirally coiled, consisting of 6-11 disc-, barrel-shaped cells, arising from periaxial cells; involucral filaments numerous; carpogonia 7 μm in diameter at the base, 9-12 μm in diameter at the apex, 35-45 μm long, trichogyne club-shaped, more or less indistinctly stalked; carposporophytes sperical, 150-220 μm in diameter, inserted centrally, gonimoblast filaments long, consisting of 5-8 cylindrical cells, radially branched, loosely agglomerated; carposporangia spherical or ellipsoidal, 9-12 μm in diameter, 10-15 μm long, terminal on laterals of gonimoblast filaments.
