Aulacoseira ambigua is a species of diatoms in the family Aulacoseiraceae. They are native to Tocantins, Minas Gerais, Alagoas, Pará, Ceará, Amazônia, RondôNia, Maranhao, GoiáS, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Rio Grande Do Sul, Paraná, Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina, Sergipe, Distrito Federal, SãO Paulo, and Bahia. Dead Aulacoseira ambigua form siliceous oozes.
