Bulbs clustered, cylindric, 0.3--0.5 cm in diam.; tunic grayish brown, papery, subfibrous at apex. Leaves shorter than scape, 0.5--1 mm wide, semiterete. Scape 13--17 cm, covered with leaf sheaths only at base. Spathe 2-valved, persistent. Umbel few flowered. Pedicels subequal, ca. 2 × as long as perianth, ebracteolate. Perianth purple-red; segments ovate-oblong, 7--9 × 2.5--3 mm; inner ones slightly longer than outer. Filaments subequal, 2/3--3/4 as long as perianth segments, connate at base and adnate to perianth segments; outer ones subulate; inner ones broadened at base, narrowly triangular. Ovary narrowly ovoid, without concave nectaries at base. Style not exserted. Fl. and fr. Aug--Sep.
