Heterocyathus aequicostatus (Striped Bum Coral) is a species of Cnidaria in the family Caryophylliidae. They are listed in cites appendix ii. Dead Striped Bum Coral form shallow marine sediments. They are solitary. They have asexual reproduction, alternation of generations, and sexual reproduction; they are broadcast spawners. They are facultatively mobile animals.

Definition: Appendix II lists species that are not necessarily now threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely controlled.
