Caulastraea tumida is a species of cnidarians in the family Merulinidae. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN and in cites appendix ii. Dead Caulastraea tumida form shallow marine sediments. Caulastraea tumida form marine reefs. They have alternation of generations, asexual reproduction, and sexual reproduction. They are sessile animals.
